Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

Produce

  • 1 Large head cauliflower

  • 2 Garlic cloves (minced)

Baking and Spices

  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1/4 tsp Chilli powder

  • 1/4 tsp Paprika

  • 1 Cup unbleached all-purpose flower (GF flour works well too)

Oils and Vinegar

  • Canola oil spray (or your favorite cooking spray)

Other

  • 1 tsp vegan chicken bouillon granules (I used 1 Edward & Sons “Not-Chick’n” bouillon cube)

  • 1 Cup unsweetened plain almond milk (or your favorite non-dairy milk)

  • 2 tbsp Non-dairy butter

  • 1/2 Cup Frank’s Red Hot Original

Directions:

  1. Cut the cauliflower into bite-size pieces. Rinse and drain the cauliflower pieces.

  2. Combine the flour, bouillon granules (or cube), cayenne, chilli powder, paprika, and pepper flakes in a large bowl. Slowly whisk in the milk until a thick batter is formed.

  3. Spray the air fryer basket with the oil spray and preheat the air fryer to 390ºF for 10 minutes.

  4. While the air fryer is preheating, toss the cauliflower in the batter. Transfer the battered cauliflower to the air fryer basket. Cook for 20 minutes on 390ºF. Using tongs, turn the cauliflower pieces at 10 minutes (don’t be alarmed if they stick).

  5. After turning the cauliflower, heat the butter, hot sauce, and garlic in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat, simmer, and cover.

  6. Once the cauliflower is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the cauliflower and toss gently with tongs. Serve immediately.
