Philadelphia Half
🚨 PR Alert 🚨
Well this is a bit of a surprise. I went into the Philly half marathon thinking I would have fun, enjoy the sights, and run at a more conservative pace because I was unsure how my legs would feel after Chicago… Welp, I achieved 2 out of those 3 as I had fun and took in the sights, but my legs… they were ready to roll 🔥 🙌 and I wasn’t going to get in their way.
The city of Philadelphia is like home to me and it was great to be back racing. I mean the crowds alone were amazing. There was a little bit of a chill to the air in the morning, but that didn’t stop anyone from cheering. The first half felt amazing cruising through the streets and while I originally thought the second half would bring the proverbial “wall,” it surely did not.
After the halfway point I couldn’t help but think, “How long will this feeling last for? Another mile? Two miles?….Well lets find out and LFG!!” I’m a firm believer that mindset is everything and in this case it’s true. The body does indeed achieve what the mind believes.

Medal Monday: from my favorite city 🏅
Finally made it back to race in my favorite city 🙌 and I now have a PR with some shiny new bling to pair it with. It’s been a long time since I’ve raced through the streets of Philly and I couldn’t be happier that I made this the year to come back. This marks another medal that carries a hefty impact in my running career. Until next time Philly ✌️
