Certification Status Update
About 3 months ago I had started my journey into obtaining my certification for holistic nutrition. It’s been a tough road so far, but I’ve learned quite a bit. While all of this has been going on, I’ve noticed that I haven’t posted much content. My head has been stuck in the books trying to learn about macro-nutrients, micro-nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and how much bird seed someone who is plant-based can eat (😂 Thanks Joanna).
Throughout my coursework I’ve learned that by adjusting your diet to being more plant-based, about 90%, you can potentially rid your body of cancerous cells, decrease inflammation in your arteries, and prolong your life. To me that sounds like an achievable goal for everyone. Who wouldn’t want to reduce their chances of prostate cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, osteoporosis, asthma, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and soo much more? By eating more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, leafy greens, beans, you can live a happy and healthy life. It’s amazing what eating whole foods can do for your body!
Soon I will complete all of my assignments (I have one more left to submit) and then I will be taking on the biggest challenge in my coursework, the final exam. I have to be honest, I’m a bit nervous. I haven’t taken a test like this in a long time, probably since the SATs. I do have to say that I’ve read an incredible amount of material and feel prepared for it, but can one ever be truly ready? We’ll find out soon enough! Time to get back to studying.
What are some of the ways you’ve challenged yourself recently and had to put a few things aside in order to achieve a specific goal?
