Earth Day

Today as well as everyday we celebrate the Earth πŸŒŽ and everything it has to offer usπŸ’§πŸ…πŸ₯•πŸ‹πŸ₯¬πŸ«. It’s a time to roll up the sleeves and get our hands dirty. It’s a chance for us to take care of our home so it can take care of us for years to come, because we only have one planet. It doesn’t matter if you plant a tree πŸŒ³, eat more plants πŸŒ±, make room for a new garden πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎ, spend time amongst the trees, or conserve water and protect our waterways from plastic, make today and every day count πŸ˜ƒπŸ’š.

Here are some ways you can help:

🌱 Eat seasonally, locally, and more plants (see link in bio)

πŸ—‘ Don’t litter, the world is not our trash can

♻️ Refuse, reduce, reuse, rot, recycle

πŸ§—β€β™€οΈ Spend some time outdoors instead of plugged in

🚴 Bike more and drive less to reduce your carbon footprint

🌎 Go zero waste to combat climate change

β˜€οΈ Use more sustainable, clean energy

πŸ’§ Conserve water and protect our waterways

🚫 Say no to plastic water bottles

πŸ›’ Shop from bulk bins

Doing these little things help out with the bigger picture. I personally check off a lot of the items listed above everyday, but today I’ll be out in the garden tending to the seedlings and turning the soil prepping for the next round of seeds. Within the coming weeks/month I should have quite a bit to harvest. Take a look below to see what’s currently growing. There’s also some onions, spinach, and lettuce also in the ground, but nothing popping up just yet, I figured there was no need to take a picture of soil. Which one of these will you take on today?

Here are some quotes that carry some weight for today as well as everyday:

β€œThe environment is where we all meet; where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share.”
— Lady Bird Johnson

β€œTime spent amongst trees is never wasted time”
— anonymous

β€œThe Earth is a fine place and worth fighting for.”
— Ernest Hemingway
