Move More in May

We finally made it to May and the sun is shining bright ☀️. The days are longer and the weather is absolutely perfect. It’s time to break out the shorts, tanks, tees, or whatever makes you happy and get outside and soak up that sunshine. In some ways, May marks the unofficial start of summer. It’s a time where you see more faces and go more places 😃.

So how about we celebrate this breath of fresh air and move more. I’m not saying to prepare for a marathon or anything (unlike myself), but get your body moving more. For the month of May I’m going to be promoting what I call the Move More in May Challenge. It’s a chance for us all to get up and… well move around. It’s that simple. Try to spend 30 minutes or more moving your body for the month. That’s 31 days of movement. The great thing about this challenge is that it’s free! You can hike your local trails or seek out new ones; you can go for a walk after dinner and enjoy the night sky or walk to your local coffee shop. Go for a run or swim in a lake, pool, ocean. If you have little ones (or even older children) grab a basketball, baseball, or frisbee and toss one around. Maybe this is a perfect time for you to start yoga or gardening. It doesn’t have to be difficult or well thought out. Sometimes the best things are spontaneous.

We sometimes lead a sedentary lifestyle due to work, playing video games, or binging our favorite shows. Breaking up this time with movement helps us physically, mentally, and even emotionally. It’s amazing what a little movement can do for our mind, body and soul. So are you in? Only one way to find out. Follow me on social media for tips and ways that I move around. I’ll also be hosting some giveaways from one of my favorite companies, Spibelt 🙌. Keep an eye out for your chance to win! Show your support on social media and tag me in your movement. The most important thing you have to do though…. is move more.
